Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £13.42 - £14.47

Temporary until 31st March 2025.
This is a 52 week non-sessional post i.e. it will include working during the school holidays.

Days and hours of work:
Monday, Tuesday, and alternate Fridays, 08:15-14:00
To start asap.

Aberlady is a seven class school with a 48 week model nursery offering two sessions per week (Monday-Tuesday/Wednesday-Thursday and alternate Fridays) in a semi-rural location situated on the coastline of East Lothian.  We are firmly part of the local community we serve.  We benefit from a very supportive parent council and forum.  Staff contribute to the wider life of the school and are passionate in their own professional learning. We are looking for a motivated, skilled ASN Auxiliary to join our nursery team. The job will be based in the nursery room providing additional support.  We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is keen to develop a career within our nursery setting.

Job Details

To provide care and assistance to individuals and small groups of pupils with additional support needs.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Good standard of general education.
Experience of working with or caring for children with additional support needs.

Nursery Only: SSSC registration or agreement to register within 6 months from the date of appointment to this post is essential.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups are required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
