Full Job Description

SSE Renewables operates and maintains over 1000MW of Hydro Generation and associated infrastructure. The multi-disciplined team based in the Sloy /Awe and Foyers Great Glen are responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of our Hydro Generation Plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state.

We currently have opportunities for Electrical and Mechanical Multi Skilled Craftspeople to join our Hydro Generation Operations and Maintenance team based at Sloy, Clachan or Inverawe, Power stations in Argyll And Foyers and Dundreggan in Invernesshire.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;

- Carrying out mechanical / electrical maintenance activities plus civil works within your competence.

- The day-to-day rectification, repair and designated project work.

- Carrying out routine inspections and checks to ensure our equipment and fixed plant is at a high standard of operational effectiveness.

- Reporting operational defects as they arise, carrying out risk assessments, plus environmental and safety inspections. Youll also receive training to operate and isolate fixed generation plant.

- The job requires a high flexible attitude, from time to time, be required to work outside in all weather conditions and it may be necessary to carry out work out with normal working hours.

A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds or equivalent craft apprenticeship certificates in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline.

- An Electrical/Mechanical or Multi-skilled craftsperson background, with hands on experience of working on generation equipment, or heavy rotating plant.

- The ability to create and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, as youll be working closely with the public, other teams and varying levels of senior management.

- A full and valid driving license is essential.

Salary: £31,339 - £35,892 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
