The Role

The School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Visiting Music Instructor of Percussion to join its thriving and well-established Music Department from 19 August 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver the learning and instruction of drumkit, orchestral and Latin percussion, and four-mallet tuned percussion in one-to-one lessons, as well as direct a co-curricular percussion ensemble. Additionally, there may be the opportunity to contribute to other co-curricular activities that the Department offers. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Director of Music and work as part of the team of six full-time and two part-time permanent music instructors, and eight visiting music instructors at the High School.

About the High School of Dundee

At the High School of Dundee, our unique location in the heart of the city is a major strength, helping our pupils feel connected to the real world, creating fully rounded and grounded young people. The school currently has over 900 pupils, from age 3-18, who divide their time between our main city centre campus and our extensive sports facility, Mayfield.

In tandem, the development of partnerships with local businesses is allowing us to provide real world learning opportunities which further enriches our pupils’ learning.
