Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

The shift pattern is Monday-Sunday.

Are you passionate about providing specialised care for older adults? We are seeking a Deputy Ward Manager to work within Older People and Stroke Services within the Larkfield Unit IRH to join our dynamic team focused on serving the healthcare needs of older people.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Lead in the setting, implementation and evaluation of standards of nursing practice.
  2. Supervise qualified and unqualified staff.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and quality of life.
  4. Offer expert guidance and support to patients, families and caregivers.
  5. Participate in continuous education and stay updated on best practices in geriatric nursing.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
