Full Job Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

These posts are available from August 2024 and are based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley  with a tenure of 12 months. These posts are aimed at any doctors who have completed the Foundation Programme and are considering a career in anaesthesia/critical care, or those who have completed core training in medicine, anaesthesia or surgery  and are looking for something different prior to the next stage of their career. We will consider applications from doctors who wish to do 6/12 either from August 2024 or February 2025. Those who wish to work less than full time are encouraged to apply.

The jobs have an 80:20 split of time between clinical and non-clinical duties. Clinical duties will involve the routine and emergency care of level 2 and level 3 patients within the RAH Critical Care department as well as the transfer of the critically ill patients. You will work shifts including nights and weekends, along with trainees who rotate from the Anaesthesia Department and Advanced Critical Care Practitioners.
