Full Job Description

Eden Scott is supporting a client seeking a Facilities Manager on a part-time basis (24 hours) to join their team. The successful candidate will ensure that the building, both internally and externally, is maintained and serviced to a high standard. This includes managing building-related health and safety compliance, overseeing third-party contracts, and managing major work programs on-site. Additionally, the role involves line managing and directing a facilities officer, as well as proactively managing risk and dealing with insurance issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the building's infrastructure, both internally and externally, receives meticulous maintenance and service at a superior level.
  • Maintain responsibility for on-site building-related health and safety compliance, inclusive of third-party service providers and maintenance records.
  • Supervise third-party contracts to ensure adherence to the agreed-upon service standards.
  • Directly manage and provide guidance to a full-time staff member (facilities officer), identifying and addressing training requirements.
  • Proactively manage risk and handle insurance matters on-site.
  • Oversee major work programs on-site, serving as the central point of contact for all involved parties.
  • Collaborate with the business office to compile external contracts and ensure adherence to company procurement policies.
  • Monitor on-site facilities management activities and coordinate with service providers and subcontractors.

Application Requirements:

  • Prior experience in facilities management, encompassing the supervision of company personnel and contractors, as well as the administration of service agreements as needed.
  • Proficiency in customer service, interpersonal communication, and IT skills.
  • Thorough understanding and application of Health and Safety legislation, environmental protection requirements, with preference for IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Self-driven with exceptional organizational and planning skills, capable of working independently.
  • Desirable qualification in BIFM.
