Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Post based at West House but is for NHS GGC wide.

The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Fri; 0900-1700 with occasional out of hours working

Health Improvement Senior (Communication) Band 6 (1 wte) Fixed term post 12 months

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about promoting health.  You will take on a key role in managing our internal and external communication channels and campaigns relating to the health improvement interventions and services delivered by the public health directorate, e.g. Smoking Cessation, Weight Management.

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring communication plans are in place, proactively generating content across a range of communication platforms both on and off line; monitoring and evaluating activity and providing the necessary governance to ensure any potential reputational issues are managed promptly. 

The role will include developing communication campaigns and approaches to promote health for key population groups via web, social media, app and other digital means.

You should be educated to degree level with relevant experience in planning, delivering and reporting on communication campaigns.  You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of writing and producing content for web and social media platforms for various audiences.  Experience or knowledge of health improvement/promotion would be desirable.

You should have experience of using CMS systems and social monitoring analytical tools including Google Analytics and social media paid ads.
