Full Job Description

We are seeking a full time Locum Specialty Doctor or GP with Specialist Interest in Rehabilitation Medicine to join us in providing high quality medical care within our specialist in-patient unit in the Sir George Sharp Unit, working within an enthusiastic and progressive team.   This post is fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance and we will consider part/time or sessional applications for the service.
The Sir George Sharp Unit comprises a 12 bed active rehabilitation ward, outpatient facilities and therapy departments/facilities and administration offices for the staff of FRS. The FRS interdisciplinary team comprises medical staff, specialist nurses, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics and clinical psychology. All the team are involved in providing inpatient, outpatient and community services.
Utilising excellent active listening and communications skills harnessed to solid examination and critical thinking skills the successful candidate will gain increased exposure and confidence navigating and supporting individuals in their complex, recovery and journey.  This is highly rewarding work individually, and as a team member.


The precise details of the job plan will be dependent on the successful candidates previous experience and interests.   
There are established close links with the Stroke Units (acute & rehab), major trauma teams and neurosurgery.
