Full Job Description

In the Payroll assistant role, you will be reporting to the payroll manager and will need to be able to work independently using your own initiative and be driven to provide a top-quality service for clients. We are seeking a driven individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


You will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

 

  • Preparation of weekly, 2 weekly, 4 weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time using BrightPay software (training on software will be provided).
  • Calculate and process statutory payments.
  • Submission of RTI reports to HMRC.
  • Submission of auto-enrolment reports to various pension providers.
  • Dealing with client queries regarding payroll matters.
  • Efficient management of joiners and leavers, issue of P45.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and contribute to the development and improvement of payroll processes.

 

 

To be considered for the role you MUST HAVE:

 

  • Previous payroll experience
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
  • A strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • A good understanding of the Auto-Enrolment rules and have experience in submitting to pension companies
  • Confident in calculating salaries within tax and National Insurance thresholds
  • A good understanding of year-to-date figures and how to reconcile
  • A working knowledge of excel
