Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 08.30-16.30.

This is a Fixed term post for 1 year (tbc).

Experienced Project Managers to oversee and coordinate implementation of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) standards across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The Project Managers will:

  • Define, develop, monitor and report on the projects associated with implementation of the MET Standards
  • Support the delivery of effective management and control processes for the creation, approval and delivery of projects by managing the plans, risks, and project resources to deliver outcomes to the appropriate level of quality, on time, and within budget, in accordance with individual Project Plans
  • Produce high level project support and administrative requirements for the Boardwide MAT Implementation Steering Group including co-ordinating meetings, developing project plans, writing reports and co-ordinating workstreams
  • Act as a focal point for communication with the MAT Implementation Support Team (MIST) and across ADPs and local partners.

  • Balancing priorities and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the life of the project
  • Continuously managing changing and competing priorities 
  • Establishing credible, productive and collaborative working relationships with a wide range of internal/external stakeholders
  • Managing the public engagement process, meeting the expectations of service users and their families

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with evidence of continuing professional development 
  • Prince 2 or equivalent project management qualification
  • Considerable experience in a senior project planning role preferably within a large public sector organisation
  • Experience of leading and motivating large multi-disciplinary project delivery teams to ensure successful delivery of major projects
  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, including excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative working relationships
  • High level of persuasive, motivational and negotiating skills
  • IT Literate
