Tech powerhouse Google has opened a digital garage in Scotland, choosing Edinburgh as the location for its state-of-the-art hub.
The facility will offer skills and training to thousands who lack digital and tech literacy, with expert coaches sharing their knowledge.
There are already numerous garages situated across the UK – including one in Glasgow – that have helped an estimated 250,000 people improve their IT skills.
This, in turn, has boosted their employment opportunities and business acumen.
Figures suggest just under 20% of the population of Scotland lack the most basic IT knowhow, so this new garage is a welcome addition.
