Homes have been flattened, palm trees toppled and, in some cases, a state of emergency declared.
Since the 1990s some of these small, idyllic islands have operated as tax havens – and for accountants from Scotland seeking a change of scenery, a spell in the Bahamas or the Cayman Islands has been a bright gold star on their CVs.

As Brexit sails into choppier waters, relations between Spain and the UK could take a dip. If this happens your accountancy practice might be affected.
The good news, however, is this rocky outcrop is one of the few places you can buy your business suits from Marks & Spencer and eat authentic Spanish tapas for lunch.
Did we mention it enjoys year-round sunshine and great views of the Mediterranean?
