Being responsible for the cleanliness and organisation of the entire yard to include reporting/identifying any health and safety issues.
Shunting and loading/unloading of trailers, ensuring load security, and adhering to site safety policies.
Moving trailers to be parked in allocated areas ready for delivery.
Using a Counterbalance Forklift to load and unload vehicles as required.
Liaising with the Transport Office as to what vehicles are parked in the yard.
Carry out local collections and deliveries as and when required.
Logging of trailers in and out of the depot.
Attending regular training sessions.

Essential skills required for Class 1 Shunter:
Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
Previous experience of shunting is advantageous.
Counterbalance licence is preferrable, but not essential as full training can be given.
Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
Working to deadlines.
Confident, polite and a team player.
Good geographical knowledge.
Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
