Full Job Description
Chichester Cathedral Friends are looking for a Communications Volunteer to assist in the promotion of the Friends, including promoting Friends' events. Chichester Cathedral Friends (CCF) is a charity which supports the mission, music and art of Chichester Cathedral through the giving of grants and organizing events. The Communications Volunteer will be responsible for assisting in the promotion of the Friends, including promoting Friends events, and co-ordinating communication activities. Tasks and activities to be undertaken:
- To liaise with Trustees and the Events Committee to develop a master list of promotional activities.
- Write short pieces of content for inclusion in communications, such as bi-monthly emails to the membership and submitting to parish magazines.
- Gather relevant information to promote Friends events and create an events booking page using Ticket Source. (Training will be provided).
- Liaise with the Cathedral's communications team for inclusion of Friends events on the Cathedral's website and in Congregation News.
- Assist the Honorary Secretary in the production of printed materials, such as the Annual Report.
- Attend three or four meetings per year and write quarterly updates for the Trustees.
Previous experience of promotions and communications is desirable. But we need a volunteer who: - has a positive and engaging manner
- is able to write short pieces of content.
- has good communication skills and can communicate with and co-ordinate with different teams, such as the Friends Events committee and the Cathedral Communications team.
- is able to develop a plan for promotional activities and report on it.
- is flexible and can work from home and attend occasional meetings. This role is flexible and would require a few hours per week working from home, and occasional meetings which are held around Chichester or in the Cathedral.
