Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, fulltime role of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.

You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.

The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 09.00-17.00 (37.5 hours).

The Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team (OPCMHT) forms part of an integrated whole system approach to mental health services for the older adult population in Renfrewshire including community caseloads and hospital and care home liaison caseloads. The service is delivered in conjunction with Doing Well, the Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT), Out of Hours (OOH) Services and Inpatient Services. The OPCMHT Service also systematically interfaces with Addictions Services and Adult CMHTs.

The post holder will contribute to the comprehensive multi-disciplinary team in providing care and support to service users and their families within the local community. The post holder will maintain a caseload and contribute to clinics and group work and will foster a multi-disciplinary approach to clinical and managerial problems in a community setting. Under the supervision of Band 6 CPNs the post holder will liaise with hospital and primary care teams, social work and voluntary agencies, and assist the CPN to promote and develop comprehensive nursing interventions for a range of mental health problems.

The post holder will have responsibility for teaching and supervision of learners and unqualified staff.

Candidates should provide original and authentic responses to all questions within the application form. The use of artificial intelligence (AI), automated tools, or other third-party assistance to generate, draft, or significantly modify responses is strongly discouraged.
