Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

Applications are invited for this permanent less than full time General Adult Consultant post providing clinical input to the Community Mental Health Team based at Rossdale Resource Centre. The post is based purely in the community with inpatient beds being located in nearby Leverndale Hospital. The post will involve working with a full time community and inpatient based consultant colleagues in a well-resourced and established Community Mental Health Team base. Responsibilities will be shared for an urban general adult population of approximately 71,000 with a wide range of deprivation. Inpatient beds are currently based at Leverndale Hospital in Ward 3a. The post-holder will be expected to work closely with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a full range of services to outpatients. Applicants should be on the Specialist Register and already having AMP status would be desirable.
Successful applicants will be expected to participate in the South Glasgow and Clyde Consultant rota with an approximate frequency of 1:27
