Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Public Dental Service (PDS) for a full time Dental Nurse Team Leader to join our dynamic team.

We need a highly organised, enthusiastic individual to join our Team, to support delivery of high-quality dental care to patients residing within Forth Valley.

The post holder will be an essential member of the Public Dental Service team and will work with local dental teams to improve the oral and dental health of the local population.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring day to day smooth clinical and operational delivery of the Public Dental Service, including staff management and service improvement.

The location may vary, determined by the needs of the service, therefore, the ability to travel to all sites is essential.

The PDS service operates Monday to Friday, 0830hrs to 1630hrs across 5 healthcare sites and 3 Prisons.

The following experience and knowledge are essential requirements of this post: -

  • Qualified Registered Dental Nurse (National Examination Board for Dental Nurses Certificate or equivalent SVQ level 3 in Oral Health Care)
  • Post-qualification certificate in an area of dental nursing or equivalent
  • Current General Dental Council registration
  • Significant recent work experience in emergency dental care
  • Leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proven ability in planning, prioritising and time management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and using own initiative         
  • Ability to travel across sites
  • Good IT knowledge and skills
  • Up to date knowledge and training in Basic Life Support

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
