The Director of Market Access and Reimbursement - International will be responsible for developing and executing international market access strategies, with a focus on securing favourable pricing, reimbursement, and patient access across key international markets. This role will work closely with the Sr. Director of Global Value and Access, cross-functional teams, and regional affiliates to ensure alignment on global value strategy, tailoring approaches to meet the specific needs of various healthcare systems and payer environments. This position will play a crucial role in driving access strategies and optimizing reimbursement to ensure the company's product portfolio reaches patients efficiently and effectively., Market Access and Reimbursement Strategy

  • Develop and execute market access and reimbursement strategies for key international regions, including Europe, Asia-Pacific, Nordic, and other emerging markets, to achieve optimal pricing and reimbursement outcomes.
  • Assess regional payer landscapes, pricing regulations, and reimbursement requirements to create country-specific strategies that align with local needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Global HEOR, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and local market access teams to ensure strategies are backed by robust evidence, addressing clinical, economic, and real-world value to gain favourable payer decisions.
  • Health Technology Assessments (HTA) and Reimbursement Submissions
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of HTA dossiers and reimbursement applications, ensuring they meet regional standards and are tailored to specific payer requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate with local and regional teams to develop and adapt reimbursement dossiers, supporting timely submissions and optimizing the chance of positive decisions from payers.
  • Monitor and evaluate changes in HTA processes, pricing, and reimbursement regulations to inform and adapt strategies, maintaining proactive engagement with international stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional and Regional Collaboration
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Global HEOR, Regulatory, Clinical Development) and regional market access leads to develop cohesive value propositions and evidence packages.
  • Work closely with regional access teams to provide support and guidance, ensuring consistent implementation of global access strategies and alignment on value messaging.
  • Facilitate regular communication and best practice sharing among international market access teams to build a strong, globally integrated approach.
  • Pricing, Contracting, and Negotiations
  • Lead regional pricing strategies and support local pricing negotiations by providing strategic guidance on pricing, contracting, and risk-sharing agreements to maximize reimbursement opportunities.
  • Conduct price forecasting, scenario analysis, and impact assessments to inform pricing decisions and maintain competitiveness in international markets.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all pricing and contracting activities adhere to regulatory and corporate guidelines.
  • Policy and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including payers, policymakers, industry associations, and patient advocacy groups, to shape and influence the market access environment.
  • Represent the company in policy discussions and industry forums to advocate for policies that improve patient access, support value recognition, and address reimbursement challenges.
  • Monitor and assess policy trends and regulatory developments in global markets, proactively identifying risks and opportunities that could impact access and pricing.
  • Market Access Intelligence and Insights
  • Track and analyze competitor access, pricing, and reimbursement trends in international markets to maintain a competitive edge and refine access strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on market access status, pricing impacts, and competitive developments to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

    You are an experienced individual with a background in Market Access and Reimbursement who is highly driven to support a growing business and passionate about finding solutions to make new technology available to users in new markets, which include patients and their physicians, along with the following,
  • Extensive experience in international market access, pricing, and reimbursement within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading HTA submissions, payer negotiations, and managing access strategies across multiple international markets.
  • Deep understanding of international pricing, HTA, and reimbursement processes, with experience in key regions such as Europe, Asia-Pacific, LATAM, and the Middle East.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement market access strategies aligned with corporate goals and regional requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic mindset with a track record of successful project management and problem-solving in complex market access environments.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, budget impact modelling, and health economic principles to support value demonstration and decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed
  • Desirable:
  • Master's degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Ph.D., PharmD, MBA)
