Full Job Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for these positions are as follows:
2x 19.6 hours, Monday Friday 1530-1930
1x 7.9 hours, Saturday/Sunday 1530-1930
1x 17.1 hours, Monday-Friday 1600-1930
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
You will support the provision of quality patient care within a new state of the art adult acute and childrens hospital facility. The Facilities Directorate deliver a variety of services (e.g. patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, portering, transport) which support and contribute to the provision of quality patient care. You will support with the delivery of catering services to patients, and for functions within the hospital, regeneration of patients meals either centrally or at ward level, plating patient meals at the point of service as advised by nursing staff and cleaning and wash-up of all equipment, machinery, and crockery associated with catering services. You will assist food production staff with the basic preparation of meals, undertake picking & packing of patient meal component and support the overall delivery of patient meals to ward level. You should comply with Food Hygiene Regulations with regard to food service. No qualifications or experience are required for this post as all training will be given on the job but you should be able to work under pressure and have good communication skills.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
