Full Job Description

The Controller plays a critical role within TCSUK, serving as a key interface between the company and its holding structure. This role provides strategic insight through financial analysis, controlling, and performance measurement, contributing to informed decision-making and improved business outcomes. The Controller ensures compliance with internal and group-wide standards and promotes the effective management of resources, in close collaboration with financial and operational teams. This position is crucial for supporting strategic decision-making and the growth of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions UK within the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Activities Controlling Activities:

  • Manage and analyse financial results for TCSUK business area in the field of management accounting, controlling and measuring performance, whilst providing information and analysis to enable better management decisions and improvement of business results.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on sales revenues, unit margins, fixed and variable costs as well as depreciation and provide feedback and comments on causes of variances to management against planned performance (including all financial and non-financial KPIs), working across affiliate.
  • Cost centre monitoring, update, and allocation cycle updates on a regular basis to ensure accurate reporting as well as liaising with JV team members and energy supply teams to ensure timely delivery of accurate reporting.
  • Drive and lead the closing forecast, annual budget, long-term plan (five-year plan) and seasonalised budget; coordinate inputs and control the closing process, meticulously verifying data and delivering precise outputs, including uploading into central systems (i.e. Magellan) before deadlines.
  • Present management accounting information to senior members of the organisation and Head Office, including presentations for LTP and Budget, highlighting key points and actively participating in business reviews.
  • Controller reports capital expenditure (CAPEX) process including overseeing and controlling (against budget and plan), analysing spend and allocation (i.e. call offs or per site), based on different business criteria.
  • Work across the business units to understand the needs & design the reporting for key stakeholders and promote uniformity of reporting, including Commercial & Delivery teams to provide managerial accounting insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance and key controls:
  • Ensures strict adherence to company rules and group guidelines, manuals and deadlines, according to company rules and management accounting guidelines.
  • As part of the Essentials of Internal Control, manage TCSUK internal controls, applicable, ensuring all are adhered to assist in developing, implementing and managing procedures and policies to ensure effective control within the department and affiliate.
  • Organise and coordinate internal audit activities, including preparing audit schedules, gathering documentation, and continuously monitoring and tracking the progress of action points, findings in line with internal audit recommendations.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets as per group-wide requirements (GERICO, SOX, SAPIN2, Anti-Corruption Compliance and etc.).
  • Preparing, recording and presenting manual key compensating control reports in line with Segregation of Duty Risk Matrix, including access management and user rights reports for management's validation.
  • Key User for information systems crucial for financial management account planning and reporting, actively contributing towards strengthening the risk control environment within financial management software tools.
  • Any other reasonable request from all senior stakeholders, including Managing Director.

    Part/Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • 5-7 years in finance, accounting, or controlling, ideally within the energy sector or a multinational corporation.
  • Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and management accounting.
  • Strong technical skills with good understanding of management accounting and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (and relevant financial software such as MBC).
  • Proven ability to actively seek opportunities to improve finance performance and processes with willingness to learn and develop, including attaining a professional qualification.
  • Possess good understanding of operational processes (sales, logistics, purchasing, inventory management).
  • Attention to detail, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and ethical integrity.
  • Strong collaboration, adaptability, and proactive mindset.
  • Experience in the renewable energy or EV charging industry is a plus
