This is an opportunity to join an experienced and versatile team delivering first-class services at HMNB Clyde, including work at both HMNB Faslane and RNAD Coulport. Attaining DV clearance is a requirement following appointment, and previously security-cleared personnel are particularly encouraged to apply.
Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time, versatile, enthusiastic, and neatly presented Motor Transport Driver. The role involves driving both PSV and LGV vehicles, completing a variety of driving tasks both within and outside the Faslane and Coulport bases. The successful candidate will work to a changeable shift pattern depending on customer demands and must have the professional capability to multi-task and react to changing circumstances.
Main Duties

The main duties include adhering to planned transport taskings and completing all task and reporting paperwork in accordance with legal requirements and operating procedures. The candidate must ensure vehicles are well maintained and report any faults to the management team. Additionally, they are responsible for cleaning vehicles, ensuring all vehicles used by the department and establishment are maintained in a presentable condition. A proactive approach to Health & Safety is essential, ensuring no reportable accidents or incidents occur due to negligence. The candidate will also be required to carry out other reasonable tasks as needed and actively promote a safe working culture by adhering to Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law.

The ideal candidate will be confident, self-motivated, and able to use their initiative, highly responsive to company and customer requirements. They should be proactive and consistent, with the ability to adapt quickly to the different needs of the business. Additionally, the candidate should possess DV Clearance following appointment, a full clean Driving License, and Category D essential, with CE desirable (must be willing to gain this license). Driver CPC qualifications in PSV are essential, and Haulage is desirable. An understanding of and compliance with all aspects of Road Transport legislation is necessary, along with basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles. Good written and numerical skills, good geographic knowledge, and the capability to multi-task as required by the business are also important. Effective interpersonal communication skills, a flexible
approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities, good customer-facing skills, and the ability to develop close working relationships are essential. Basic IT literacy is also required.
