Full Job Description

The responsibility of performing all mechanical and electrical work, We are on the lookout for a maintenance type electrically qualified engineer as well as Handyperson duties, is a multifaceted role that requires a broad skill set and a comprehensive understanding of various systems and processes. This role involves the execution of both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, which are critical for the smooth operation and longevity of the systems in place. The individual in this role must be capable of self-delivering these services working to the H&S standards why doing so., The routine mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks that this role encompasses include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of high and low voltage systems, pressure systems, generators, and LTHW chilled water installations as well as production line equipment. These tasks are performed by authorised engineers and NICEIC approved contractors who are trained to the highest industry standards. The role also involves the maintenance of the fabric of the building, ensuring that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs which is equally important. In the first year of the contract, the individual would be encouraged and supported to become an accredited Electrical Authorised Person. This is because the transfer of this role is essential due to their technical knowledge and the tacit information they have about the site. Bellrock encourages all their engineers to further their careers either to be multi-skilled or an authorised person. Handyperson duties. This is a more general term that can encompass a wide range of tasks. A Handyperson will be called upon to do anything from fixing a leaky faucet to painting a room to assembling furniture. These tasks might not be as technically complex as mechanical or electrical work, but they still require a certain level of skill and knowledge. In addition to these specific skills and knowledge, the person in this role also needs to have good general skills. They need to be organized and able to manage their time effectively, as they might be juggling multiple tasks at once. They also need to be able to communicate effectively, as they might need to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people. And they need to be reliable and trustworthy, as they will often be working unsupervised and might be responsible for valuable equipment or sensitive systems. All activities performed by the individual in this role are managed through the Concerto platform to improve efficiencies and create a comprehensive database of the assets. The robust safe systems of working processes are underpinned by the engineering policy and procedure s structure and establish a framework for working to the appropriate regulations and industry best practice collaborating with Bellrocks H&S team. The role of performing all mechanical and electrical & HVAC as well as Handyperson duties, is a critical one that requires a broad skill set, a comprehensive understanding of various systems and processes, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The individual in this role plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of the systems in place, and their work is integral to the overall success of the operation.,

  • Liaise with and support specialist sub-contractors for required asset types
  • Ensure health and safety processes are followed at all times
  • To ensure statutory compliance
  • To regularly check the designated M&E systems of the buildings/sites and to advise the Helpdesk of any repair work that may be required.
  • To undertake any such repair work as directed by the Account Manager where safe and practical to do so, and with due regard to Health & Safety processes.
  • Follow COSHH Regulations
  • To maintain plant rooms and other areas of the buildings to a high standard of cleanliness
  • To carry out any other duties as required
  • Understand all H&S requirements and responsibilities
  • Working arrangements

  • City & Guilds L3 in Electrical Engineering essential or(recognised electrical apprenticeship)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning.
  • IOSH Desirable
  • Ability to prioritise work accordingly
  • Ability to communicate at all levels at both the client side as well as within Bellrock
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Flexibility to cover other work requests deemed necessary for the smooth running of the contract
  • Knowledge of current H&S and legislations is essential.
  • Maintain personal qualifications and accreditations required for the role (supported by Bellrock)
  • Competencies in the FMCG industry Essential
  • Production Facilities Background Desirable
  • Multi skilled good understanding of general repair works Essential
  • PPM, compliance and reactive tasks for M&E services at designated sites
