Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the paediatric neurology team within the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow to support children as outpatients and inpatients under the care of the wider neurology team in order to provide seamless support for children and young people who have epilepsy. He/she will contribute to the medical, educational and social management of children with epilepsy, providing support and formal training sessions within the hospital for carers and staff from nurseries, schools and respite centres.  He/she will contribute to the West of Scotland Nurse Run Vagal Nerve Stimulation service, adjusting devices according to response, guided by nationally agreed guidelines.  The post holder will develop individualised seizure management plans for children and young people with epilepsy to guide seizure management in school, respite and ambulance and accident and emergency settings.
