Personal Assistant - 5 hours per week (SDS / NB / 271530)

We are assisting our client to recruit for a Personal Assistant to provide support to an 11-year-old boy, with learning disabilities and complex needs (primarily around language, communication and understanding). Our client is happy and sociable and can guarantee plenty of fun and laughs.

Duties will include supporting them to participate with social and educational activities at home, and after school and also to access groups and activities within the community once a trusting relationship is established.

Our client enjoys various activities including playing with vehicles, interest in emergency service vehicles/workers, lego, rollercoasters/theme parks and roleplay. He has a love of characters in movies such as Buzz lightyear, Wallace & Gromit and Monsters Inc.

Other activities he enjoys range from dancing, music, cinema visits, swimming (1:1 with an adult - has just passed his level 1 badge), playing in the park, traveling on public transport and helping with garden chores.

You will have experience and understanding in supporting individuals with complex disabilities, and experience in managing and supporting emotional and behavioural needs would be advantageous.

You will have a pro-active, caring, fun and nurturing attitude with a lot of energy.

You will also hold a driving licence and be a non-smoker.
