Full Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage a high-quality, efficient, and effective Quantity Surveying Service, ensuring delivery excellence for both internal and external clients. Reporting to the Design & Construction Manager, this role offers the opportunity to take charge of major projects, develop staff, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.,

  • Team Leadership: Oversee and develop the Quantity Surveying team, including delegation, supervision, and staff training.
  • Project Oversight: Manage cost aspects of Capital and Revenue projects, preparing accurate cost plans, tender documents, and financial reports.
  • Client Engagement: Provide strategic advice, reports, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives such as ISO 9001 procedure development, IT system advancements, and performance benchmarking.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to construction legislation, procurement standards, and Council regulations while driving best value practices.

    Chartered Surveyor with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, with membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS).
  • Strong IT, analytical, and numerical skills.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality professional property services.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and lead projects. Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Desirable:
  • Local Authority experience.
  • Knowledge of Masterbill or similar billing software.
  • Awareness of Whole Life Appraisal techniques, Best Value policies, and Quality Assurance principles.

    The provision of property management and advice services. Tasks include valuations, acquisitions, disposals, lettings, compensation negotiations and property management.
