The James Young High School is a six year comprehensive In Livingston South, which serves the communities of Bankton, Bellsquarry, Dedridge and Williamston primary schools. We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Technician with drive and ambition to join our team, who is committed to improvement and excellence. Candidates should be forward thinking, dynamic and solution focussed.

The skills and knowledge you must have:-

Essential

  • an Ordinary National Certificate or SCOTVEC or better in Chemistry, Physics or Biology or other relevant discipline
  • It is expected that the post holder has post qualification experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within the education system
  • In addition, it is expected that the post holder has a good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
