Full Job Description

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Hiring Manager. NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

  • Are you looking to advance your clinical skills in a GP Practice setting?
  • Are you passionate about patient care and want to have an active role in shaping how pharmaceutical care is delivered at cluster level?
  • Do you want to lead an enthusiastic and dedicated team?
  • If so, then a warm welcome to NHS Fife awaits. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking advanced pharmacist who is keen to lead a team to deliver excellent pharmaceutical care to patients within Primary Care in North East Fife. You will be responsible for service delivery at cluster level and have an active role in training other staff as well as being an integral part of the team delivering a much appreciated and well-respected Pharmacotherapy Service. You will be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council and be an active independent prescriber. As an essential member of the GP Practice Team, you will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with a range of clinical and nonclinical personnel and patients. You will have strong leadership skills and have a commitment to supporting the development of others within your team. You will have experience of service development and have a strong desire to deliver quality services across a GP cluster. Previous primary care experience would also be desirable. You will work alongside the existing and expanding team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and medicines management support workers, along with existing senior practice pharmacists. Applicants should have the ability to travel to different locations across North East Fife, although you will primarily work in a small number of GP practices within this cluster on a regular basis.
