NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fulltime, permanent post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Thursday (8.30-16.30) and Friday (8.30-16.00).

The post holder will be part of the NHSGGC Research & Innovation Senior Management Team. They will directly line manage the Safe Haven team with responsibility for the extraction and curation of large-scale datasets from our data warehouse environment using SQL for delivery to the Safe Haven secure analytics platform. The de-identified data is handled to the highest standards of data protection and governance to preserve patient privacy. The candidate will be highly numerate, with good problem-solving skills, and have experience of handling large datasets using current data science methodologies.

We are looking for a Masters qualification or equivalent in a relevant degree subject, relevant experience of working with sensitive data in Trusted Research Environments and the ability to provide expert support to research project teams working with NHS Data.
