Vocational Assessor (Supervisory and management)
National
£40,500 - £49,500

Role purpose:
To provide high quality vocational assessment for supervisory, management and senior management qualifications that reflects the specialist knowledge, skills and behaviours required in industry and by external awarding organisations across all construction industry sectors across the UK.
Manage a learner cohort comprising both apprentice and adult learners through the assessment process from allocation to achievement., Manage a cohort of supervisory, management and senior management learners by effective and timely planning and delivery of assessment activities.
Carry out assessments in the workplace to ensure that learners confidently demonstrate the technical and specialist knowledge, skills and behaviours required of the qualification being undertaken.
Deliver assessments in line with Assessment and Verification policies and procedures.
Manage learner cohort through to timely achievement.
Contribute to maintaining the integrity of supervisory, management and senior management qualifications.
Contribute to the quality assurance process by ensuring compliance with all centre procedures and awarding organisation requirements.
Carry out accurate profiling of candidate applications to ensure registration to the correct qualification and route commensurate with their role and experience.
Process learner applications via course booking team to raise invoices.
Contribute to non-levy income and cost control via effective and efficient delivery of assessment services.
Work with IQA and stakeholders to contribute to sales and marketing strategies.
Work with IQA and stakeholders to contribute to the development of new products, externally influence and assist in qualification development, and assessment/QA practice.
Maintain the health, safety and welfare of all those involved in the assessment process.
Ensure compliance with all organisational policies on safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Provide all learners with regular written and verbal feedback on their assessments.
Identify learners at risk and assist IQA in devising and implementing strategies to ensure that learners not progressing are effectively managed.
Provide learners and employers with information advice and guidance relating to career progression opportunities.
Carry out effective external stakeholder management to provide excellent customer service, generate repeat business and promote provision across customer supply chains.
Follow all safeguarding policies and practices and be responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment where all learners feel safe, included and supported.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry professionals, employers and other stakeholders, to ensure that industry specialisms are kept up to date.
Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to keep up to date with changing teaching, learning and assessment methodologies (CPD).
Always display positive behaviours and attitudes to colleagues and learners.
We may, in consultation with you, need to vary these duties from time to time to respond to the changing requirements of the organisation. Such other duties will be commensurate with your skills, knowledge, and experience.

Chartered Manager (CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA, CABE) or Master's Degree in a management or construction technical discipline or L7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management.
Industry experience commensurate with the qualification levels delivered (Level 7).
Assessor award
Excellent knowledge of current industry practices.
Decision-making skills commensurate with the requirement for assessing higher level competency qualifications.
Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
Accurate record keeping.
Ability and skills to work autonomously, with minimum supervision and manage own learner cohort.
Minimum of Level 3 teaching qualification (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing role).
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Educated to level 2 or above in English and maths.
Excellent organisational skills.
Knowledge, skills, and experience in Microsoft Office 365.

Desirable

Previous experience of assessing supervisory, management and senior management vocational qualifications
Level 5 teaching qualification
Detailed knowledge and experience of qualifications delivered.

Special Conditions/Other Requirements:

Requirement for extensive travel and nights away from home.
Lone working.
High level of self-motivation.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Enhanced DBS/PVG for child workforce and children's barred list check.
CSCS Management Academically or Professionally Qualified Persons card.
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
Full UK Driving Licence
