GP Lead for Screening Programmes

2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part time (8 hours per week) post based in Astley Ainslie Hospital


We are a looking for a GP with a passion for tackling health inequalities to join our team within the Directorate of Public Health and Health Policy.  This is a two year fixed term position for two sessions per week.

The role will focus on working across General Practice and a range of other relevant partners to support national screening programme governance and delivery and to develop strategic interventions to improve access to screening particularly among people living in our most deprived communities.

This is an exciting new post for the Directorate and is part of our work to strengthen our focus on delivery of and access to screening programmes. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about making a difference and is able to work strategically with partners to drive change.


The main departmental office base is at Canaan Park at the Astley Ainslie site; however the post holder will work across Lothian as well as remotely. 

Candidates must be registered with GMC on the GP Register with a licence to practice and have current or previous experience of working as a GP.
