Full Job Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Are you a compassionate, motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist with a passion for Infant Mental Health?

The Lothian Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) is a small multi-disciplinary team supporting parent-infant relationships in the first three years of life, to promote optimal infant mental health. We provide assessment, formulation and a range of evidence based group and one-to-one interventions for infants and their parents / carers. We also provide indirect support through training, consultation and reflective practice to a range of professionals and services working with infants.

We are delighted to be recruiting a Clinical Psychologist who will hold a caseload of infants and parents / carers, deliver 1:1 and group interventions such as Circle of Security Parenting and Video Interaction Guidance, contribute to MDT formulation and reflective practice, run reflective practice sessions for partner staff and agencies, deliver relevant training, offer supervision to staff within the team, and offer regular consultation slots.

We recognise that some clinicians will not have had opportunity to work within this speciality previously and whilst enthusiasm, applicable skills and professionalism are essential, training in infant mental health and relevant interventions will be provided.

This post is available as a full time post or as a job share for part-time hours.

We warmly welcome informal enquiries and questions, which can be made to Dr Sarah Baillie, Principal Clinical Psychologist / Team Lead sarah.baillie@nhs.scot or Dr Kirsten Coull, Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Lead Kirsten.Coull@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk

We intend to interview on Thursday 10th October 2024.
