In our department we have managers who have advanced through various roles,

Tracey McKean one of our Support Services Managers, career journey:

'I started as a back shift Domestic Assistant at the old DGRI and worked as a chamber maid at a local hotel.

I was promoted to Night Duty Manager resigned from my Domestic Back shift.
I really missed the people and the department.

In 2002 I saw an advert for an NHS Hotel Services Supervisor.
I now had the skills and experience required for this post and relished the thought of being back home at old DGRI.
I worked as a Support Services Supervisor for 20 years. I love being a Supervisor working with Staff and patients based in DGRI.

In 2022 a Support Services Managers post was advertised.  I was comfortable in my Supervisory role, it was daunting applying but I was ready for a new challenge.

I am immensely proud of the part I now play in managing our recruitment process.  Our staff are our most important resource.

If you are interested in joining our team, we would welcome your application.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
