As a rapidly developing service, we offer a wide range of varied and challenging patient centred roles across many specialist areas; and, as part of our workforce plan, we are recruiting talented and enthusiastic pharmacy technicians to join our diverse staff group working at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). RIE is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering best practice across a wide variety of specialist services.

This role will have key focus within the clinical services team supporting at a ward level with patient focused medicines management and the flow of the site. There is the opportunity to support with medication reconciliation, counselling, and discharge support. They will be a key member within both pharmacy and wider multi-disciplinary teams.  This is a great development opportunity as a clinical patient-facing role for an individual keen to specialise as a clinical technician.

You must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, have a certificate in pharmacy services (or equivalent) and an SVQ level 3 in pharmacy services. NHS Lothian offers supportive and progressive employment conditions.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
