Band 6 MSK Out Patient Physiotherapists
0.65 WTE post available at RIE, Edinburgh

We are looking for a dynamic forward thinking Physiotherapist to join our MSK Upper limb service. The successful post holder will be based in the Physiotherapy Out Patient department at the RIE.
Experience in managing Consultant referrals is essential as are strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills. The successful candidate will be skilled in treating a wide range of upper limb conditions following trauma and elective surgery from both Orthopaedics and Plastics as well as conservatively managed conditions.
Strong communication skills are required and the candidate will assist with acute fracture clinic treatments. They should therefore be comfortable with a wide variety of splinting practice and be able to work efficiently in a fast paced setting.
There will be a commitment to weekend working in the Trauma and Elective wards at RIE as part of the 5 over 7 day working pattern.
Therapy Services support staff development through appraisal process, supervision and CPD opportunities.

If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
