Full Job Description
This is a key post in shaping the future of Administration Services within the Acute & Diagnostics Directorate in NHS Dumfries and Galloway.
The post would involve working between Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Mountainhall Treatment Centre.
The post holder will support and assist the Administration Services Co-ordinator to fulfil their roles and responsibilities by providing high level support and line management responsibilities.
- They will be required to have had line management experience to support, lead and motivate a team. Be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate with a wide and diverse audience.
- They will play a key part in day to day line management whilst supporting service redesign to deliver a more effective and efficient admin service for both users of the service and those working within the service.
- It is essential that the post holder is able work on their own, using initiative, as well as working as part of a team. Have the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
This post will be supported by colleagues, Administration Services Co-ordinator and Administration Services Manager.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
