We welcome applications for this opportunity in NHS Lothian: we have a vacancy for a permanent 0.9 WTE (33.3 hours per week) Clinical Psychologist, Band 8A.  The post-holder will be the clinical lead for the Edinburgh Behaviour Support Service (EBSS), and as such will be an integral member of Lothian Older Peoples Psychology Service (LOPPS). 

LOPPS has a range of psychology staff, including Clinical Psychologists, CAAPs and Assistant Psychologists, working in various settings across Lothian.  We routinely provide placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists.  Several members of the service are involved in research projects, or leading Quality Improvement projects.  Opportunities for continuing professional development are supported and encouraged.  We have regular meetings, both formal and informal, in addition to regular individual and group supervision.

The Edinburgh Behaviour Support Service (EBSS) is a psychology led specialist service providing formulation led interventions for individuals with dementia who are resident in Edinburgh City Care Homes. EBSS also provides training to care homes in responding to stress and distress in dementia. The post-holder will be the Clinical Psychology Lead, and will be supported by other members of this well-established clinical team. EBSS is based at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.  There are robust systems in place for referrals, consultation, supervision and training. The post-holder will manage a specialist caseload, and will support the delivery of formulation led interventions within the MDT.  This will include providing clinical supervision to nursing staff and an Assistant Psychologist. 

You must have an Honours Degree in Psychology, and a Post Graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and be registered with HCPC as an Applied Psychologist (or eligible for HCPC registration).
