Full Job Description

Shift pattern: Mon- Fri Week 1 6am-2pm and Week 2 2pm-10pm, On-call weekends on a rota basis.
The purpose of this post:
- To assist the HSDU Deputy Manager to ensure Patient/User requirements are fulfilled by the efficient and effective management of the resources allocated to the core business processes of HSDU. These core processes are:
- Production: Decontamination, Assembly,
- Logistics: Sterilisation, Transport, Portering, Stores, Instrument Repair and Replacement
- To deputise as required for the HSDU Deputy Manager and accept the responsibilities of the financial budget during these periods.
- The post holder will be expected to cover the ongoing operation during periods of annual leave and any other absences.
- The post holder does not have direct budgetary responsibility but is expected to be knowledgeable of the budget directly relating to their areas of responsibility, influence spend in these areas and identify efficiency savings as appropriate.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
