Full Job Description

This exciting position involves responsibility for managing the psychological therapies provision, staffing and services to Child and Adolescent population, their families and carers with a broad range of often complex mental health needs.

The post holder will manage and supervise psychological therapy staff in the specified area and manage aspects of their work as directed by the Director of Psychology and in consultation with General Managers for Womens and Children Services and Mental Health Services., ~ If you are a member of staff please ensure you update your Jobtrain profile to reflect that you are employed by NHS Dumfries and Galloway.

Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the South West of Scotland and the department has a complement of around 90 staff. With Clinical Psychologists in all major specialities, it is a friendly, supportive and lively place to work. We have strong links with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling Universities and take trainees from both Clinical Psychology and Masters courses. We also provide placements and supervision for CBT Therapists., Public protection practice encompasses the recognition and management of risk in order to prevent or reduce harm to children, (including unborn babies), young people and adults. All public protection legislation, and NHS Dumfries and Galloway (NHSDG) policies and guidance are founded on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights, and the principles of these Conventions underpin all NHSDG core business.
