You will join the wider leadership group the Waste Regimes Department part of Batteries and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulation. We're a national team with officers based across England, ensuring a consistent regulatory approach across the country. Key areas we regulate are Batteries, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment whilst collaborating with Packaging, Materials Facilities, Simpler Recycling and International Waste Shipments. As a department we ensure that companies are disposing of their waste correctly by enforcing government regulations - 'right waste, right place'. You will lead a dispersed team and be responsible for service delivery, performance and resilience Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role. This may attract an additional payment. The team The Batteries and WEEE regime is a supportive and inclusive department that encourages our teams' health, safety, wellbeing, and development. We help to protect and improve the environment by regulating industry, ensuring compliance, and eliminating illegal activities.
