West Dunbartonshire Council is currently seeking to employ an experienced and enthusiastic 2nd Line Applications Analyst/Programmer to work in our ICT Department. As a key member of our Applications Team, you’ll be providing support for a wide variety of business systems including Document Management, HR, Finance and the ICT Service Desk.

We're looking for a flexible, multi-skilled individual, with SQL and Unix skills and an understanding of ICT technologies and integration. The successful candidate will be able to work under their own initiative and to tight timescales.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Troubleshooting user incidents, diagnosing and solving recurring software faults.
• Upgrading business applications to the defined standards in line with our change management processes.
• Prioritising and managing numerous open Service Desk requests and incidents simultaneously.
• Maintaining an accurate documentation of incidents, solutions and procedures.
• Escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams while maintaining clear communication with end users.
