Full Job Description

In this role, you will work closely with your team leader to:
-Support successful completion of our maintenance programme by planning, scheduling, and resourcing works and work to improve the effectiveness of our maintenance delivery
-Take an active role in the maintenance planners network to ensure continuous improvement and development
-Produce health & safety documentation, including site information packs and hazard maps in accordance with Future of Risk Management process (FORM)
-Ensure regular communication with asset performance teams to ensure efficient programme delivery
-Provide leadership on health and safety matters through promoting safe working practices by carrying out regular active monitoring
-Ensure work sites and assets are fully compliant to legal requirements and Environment Agency policies and procedures
-Take the lead on new projects within the catchment building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
-Coordinate and plan internally delivered minor flood risk projects using our field teams
-Work closely with our fleet providers to ensure our assets are compliant and maintained in line with legislation
-Assist leading our operational response to flood and environmental incidents by participating and training in an incident role
-Identify organise, and coordinate training to test our incident response plans
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
This role is based in our Amwell depot in Ware. You will join the Upper Lee Team, working in the Upper River Lee and River Stort catchments. Whilst most of your work is office based, you will be expected to work outside providing guidance and support to the workforce whilst delivering projects. More on this and shift patterns will be explained at the interview. Part time requests/job-share may be considered on an individual basis.

-Good knowledge of Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
We welcome all backgrounds, preferably with an interest in engineering, geography or science discipline. Most important is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn combined with excellent problem solving and communication skills.
You'll be required to travel to the depot and between sites therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
