As Deputy Housekeeper you would work closely as part of the Housekeeping Team to ensure that the guest accommodation and common areas of the properties on Iona, are kept clean and tidy to a high standard at all times. In the absence of the Housekeeper you would deputise, in many aspects of their role. You would have guest-facing interaction as, due to the way the Community works, the Housekeeping Team are regularly front and centre in interactions with our guests. This post contains an element of regulated work and as such is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and the post-holder will need to be or to become a member of Scotland s Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme. It trades through Wild Goose Publications and the Iona Community Shop on Iona, and resources a wide range of church and community organizations through its Wild Goose Resource Group and Youth Resource Team. The Iona Prayer Circle is a worldwide network which prays for people and places in distress. Coracle is the bi-monthly magazine of the Iona Community, which seeks the exchange of thoughts and ideas as a basis for finding common ground.
