Full Job Description

Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Scottish Premiership Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. The Club are looking to recruit an Academy & Development Centre Coach who will be responsible for overseeing a team within the Academy with a focus on developing players. The role will also involve the delivery of engaging sessions at the Academy Development Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic coach to work within our Academy environment with a focus on the development of talented young players. The successful candidate will collaborate with Academy staff to plan, deliver, and evaluate coaching sessions in accordance with the Club Philosophy, Coaching Plan and Academy Game Model whilst contributing to a positive environment for young players to thrive.,

  • Responsible for implementing coaching programs for young players, documenting session plans prior to the delivery of training sessions and post session reflection and evaluations with use of Sports Session Planner.

  • Work with the assigned age group at both training and matches, ensuring they play in line with the Academy identity.

  • Ensure that all individual and team learning objectives link to the Academy identity and Hearts' Position Specific Criteria.

  • Liaise with Head of Children's Academy and various Departments within the Academy regarding coaching programs and individual player development including Medical, Analysis and Sport Science staff.

  • Create a positive environment for player development.

  • Assist in any other related duties that may be required by the Head of Children's Academy or any other senior Academy staff member.

    SFA Children's License / UEFA C Licence (Children's) or equivalent.

  • SFA Advanced Children's License (Desirable).

  • Previous experience of working in an Elite Football Academy.

  • Currently based in Edinburgh or can reliably commute to Edinburgh and other locations as per the needs of the Academy schedule.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.

  • Valid UK driving licence.
