Hays are partnered with an exciting Start-up Organisation as they recruit an Interim Accountant on a hybrid working basis. Our client operates within the Project Management arena, where the Accountant will gain exposure to end-end accounting processes and build-up of the organisation's operational functions. This role is critical for them to ensure that the business meets all its internal and external reporting requirements as they embark on this new growth phase.

The Accountant will report to the Head of finance for an initial period of 2-3 months with the potential for extension into 2026. Based in Glasgow City Centre, this is a hybrid role which will work flexibly around business needs and the individual. You will be offered an hourly rate of 26.00 - 29.00 per hour over a 35-hour per-week contract. Upon successful completion of the interview, the Accountant will take up the post shortly after.


Your new role
Our client is a fast-growing and visionary business with an exciting growth plan as they scale up as part of a new venture. The Accountant will support the Head of Finance across financial and management accounting matters, from invoice management to general ledger reconciliation, supporting with financial administration and month-end duties. The accountant will also get involved in supporting with bids and tenders. This is a hands-on role where the Accountant will lead transactions management to month-end, providing support across the business.

The Accountant will also support with Statutory Accounting and Consolidated statutory accounting, external reporting and preparing financial reporting with analysis. This is a varied, fast-paced environment where no 2 days are the same.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have undertaken a similar hands-on finance role, covering end-end accounts processing to management accounting tasks with the ability to hit the ground running. Experience with Xero would be highly beneficial but non-essential with the ability to build relationships internally and externally. Part or Qualified by experience, candidates will be considered with the ability to work at at pace and improve processes as you go along.
