Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Activity Coordinator- Social activity  assistant  has arisen in Grant House Care home for older adults, who care for a variety of health conditions including Alzheimers, dementia and other age related conditions.

The post will require you to work to provided activities in which residents would be happy to participate.

You will need to be creative and possess determination to continually improve/adapt and mould the offers of therapeutic, recovery and skills based groups in order to prompt  independence amongst our residents

It would involve organising planned programme of activities for our resident group.

To provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for residents within the home.

To be part of a multi-disciplinary team and you will be responsible for assisting care staff in giving a professional level of care as determined by the specific need of the resident.

Applicants are required to have SVQ 2 but this is not essential as training will be given. The role would involve registering with the SSSC.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
