Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday Sunday day shift 3 x 6 hour & 10 mins shifts per week (18.5 hours per week).

(Please note the salary would be Pro Rata) for part time hours.

The post holder will:

  • assist the team in delivering care and organising structured, meaningful and therapeutic activities to aid the rehabilitation of stroke patients.
  • assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of patients social & leisure activities.
  • organise and participate, alongside your team, in therapeutic leisure activities on a group and one to one basis.
  • You may be asked to assist with aspects of personal care including assisting patients to the toilet and with their food at mealtimes.
  • You should have the ability to fulfil the requirements of the job description including the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential requirements:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills,
  • literacy and numeracy skills
  • the ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment 

You will complete induction including the HCSW workbook, mandatory LearnPro training and Moving and Handling training.
