A brand new opportunity has arisen to provide administrative support to the Lead Nurse for Unscheduled Care in the Isle of Skye. The Lead Nurse oversees the delivery of Nursing and Advanced Practice patient care across both Broadford Hospital and Portree Hospital Urgent Care Centre. This post would include office-based days in both Broadford and Portree Hospital to support the Lead Nurse.

You will be part of the Urgent Care Team dedicated to providing excellent patient care and vital to the smooth running of the service. The post will be fast, dynamic and varied.

Duties will include managing and co-ordinating Team Leads diary; co-ordinate meetings and other events; forward planning and prioritisation of incoming non-clinical workload; compiling meeting agendas and prepare accompanying paperwork; transcribing documents and managing file systems; prioritise email inbox; submission of departmental returns; reports and correspondence and answer general queries.  Proficiency in Microsoft office systems is essential.

A full induction will be provided with ongoing training opportunities appropriate to the role.  You will be developing the role with the Team Leads guidance working towards a level of autonomy when established in post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
