Administrative Assistant Grade C – Edinburgh Local Association
(10 Hours Per Week – School Term Time)
Salary £7354.68 (with scale increases over 4 years)
The EIS is Scotland’s largest and most influential trade union and professional association for teachers and lecturers, with over 65,000 members working in all education sectors and at all career stages. With such a large and diverse membership, and as an organisation that is strongly active across many areas of Scottish Education, we rely on high quality administrative support.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organised administrator to provide assistance to the Edinburgh Local Association Secretary and other elected officers in the day to day running of one of our largest and most active Local Associations.
The successful candidate should have experience carrying out key administrative duties including, for example, assisting with and directing member enquiries, assisting with the organisation of training events, management and monitoring of social media and the Association website, and membership database administration.
The candidate should have a high standard of communication skills and excellent attention to detail as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Teams.
This is a part-time position based in our headquarters in Moray Place, Edinburgh. However, the Institute has a Flexible Working Patterns policy offering all members of staff a high degree of flexibility over the time and location at which work is carried out, subject to the overall requirements of the EIS and its members.
Benefits include flexible working patterns, a generous final salary pension scheme and 11 days (77 hours) rising to 14 days (98 hours) of annual leave, including public holidays.
As a trade union employer, the EIS is committed to the principles of social justice and equality. We therefore welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of any protected characteristics.
The closing date for applications, which must be submitted on the application form on our website, is Wednesday 8th January 2025. CV’s will not be considered.
