Adult Metabolic Clinical Nurse Specialist - Metabolic Medicine

The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Fri- 8am-17.00ppm.

The post holder will be have a responsibility to continue implementing the adult service alongside the Lead Nurse to deliver a highly specialised Scottish Inherited Metabolic Disorders Service for adults across NHS Health Boards in Scotland. The service is an Integrated Specialist multi-disciplinary team managed by NHSGGC and based in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. The post holder will provide highly specialised professional advice for adults and young people from transition to old age.  The main role is to establish patients diagnosed with a Lysosomal Storage Disorder on Enzyme therapy and transition to homecare following establishment of treatment. The post holder will have experience and an understanding of working with people with long term conditions. The post holder will have the clinical knowledge and skills in caring for adults as well as relevant skills to implement and deliver a service across Scottish Health Boards.
