NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a dietitian with a passion for Gastroenterology! We are looking for a highly experienced & innovative dietitian to join our team. If you have excellent clinical, leadership, organisational and communication skills this could be the post for you. You will work as part of a motivated team to support patients, and clinical staff in gastroenterology in NHSGGC. The Royal Hospital for Children is the largest Paediatric Centre in Scotland and one of the largest in the UK. We provide a national and tertiary service for all the major Paediatric specialties, as well as secondary care to the local population. The department also manages Paediatric services at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), Inverclyde Hospital (IRH) and the Vale of Leven Hospital (VOL). The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics has a team of dietitians (37.6 wte), support workers and admin staff delivering the Nutrition & Dietetic service across NHSGGC. We have an integrated acute and community paediatric dietetic service to ensure continuity of care and seamless service.

You will have a varied, challenging and complex caseload, including a Dietetic Led Coeliac Service, Inflammatory bowel disease, short gut syndrome, liver disease and Coeliac disease. You would be working with consultant paediatric gastroenterologists, nurse consultant, clinical nurse specialists and a team of GI Dietitians (3.8WTE) to deliver a high-quality service. We provide excellent peer support and opportunities for personal and professional development. Applicants will have:

  • a BSc in Dietetics or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • post graduate training in Paediatric Dietetics to masters level or equivalent
  • substantial clinical experience and post graduate training.

Applications will be welcome from dietitians with paediatric and/or gastroenterology experience and experience in service evaluation and research, guideline/protocol development and the management/supervision of staff.
